I recently had a chance to review a Lean Cuisine meal. It had been awhile since I had eaten a Lean Cuisine product, and I was curious to see what it would taste like.
“The chefs of our Culinary Roundtable are embracing the bolder colors and tastes of the season, creating recipes with exciting flavors for our Culinary Collection. Taste their daring flavor combinations in our Chef’s Pick creations—chef-inspired dishes that are as inventive as they are delicious.” I chose to try Mushroom Mezzaluna Ravioli, because I love mushrooms! I could have tried Ranchero Braised Beef, or Orange Chicken or one of the other yummy sounding entrees, but I stuck with mushrooms!
I popped the meal into the microwave and waiting eagerly for the timer to go off! Once it did, I opened the microwave door and could immediately smell the ravioli…it smelled delicious. I served it up in a bowl and snapped a few pics before tasting it.
It certainly looked good, but how would it taste? I’ve had “diet” meals before and they have usually come up short in the flavor department. Would this meal be different? I took my first bite and… it was fantastic! Big, bold flavors!! Look at all the red peppers and spinach in that photo! The creamy marsala wine sauce was on point, and the portobello and button mushrooms, coupled with the romano and ricotta cheese filling tasted fabulous! It was so tasty, I almost forgot it only had 9g. of fat, 290 calories and 3g. of fiber!
I ate every last bit of it and guess what? I was actually full after eating it! Yay! Great job, Lean Cuisine, I will definitely be trying the other meals in the Culinary Collection/Chef’s Pick.
I have partnered with Lean Cuisine through DailyBuzz Food to help promote their new line of Chef’s Pick products. I have been compensated for my time commitment to work with this product. However, my opinions are entirely my own and I have not been paid to publish positive comments. Thank you Lean Cuisine!
